When the gas stove is operating, the window must be open. If there is insufficient supply of fresh air, natural gas does not burn completely and carbon monoxide is released.
It is necessary to monitor the normal operation of chimneys and ventilation, check the draft before turning on and during operation of gas heating boilers.
To check the draft in the smoke channels of boilers, attach a thin sheet of paper to the inspection window of the boiler or column. If the paper is attracted, there is traction.
Popping sounds of the gas-air mixture occur less frequently, but are no less dangerous. Although natural gas itself cannot ignite, at certain concentrations in the air of a closed room, the slightest spark can cause an ignition or explosion.
If you detect the smell of gas in the room, you must immediately turn off the taps on the lower side of the appliances and on the appliances, open the windows and doors, create a draft, and call the emergency service by calling 104.
Install gas alarms that automatically shut off the gas supply to gas-using equipment.
Carry out maintenance of gas appliances in a timely manner.
Pay special attention to the condition of the chimneys of gas boilers, carry out work on their cleaning and thermal insulation.
In order to inform and educate consumers about compliance with safety regulations when using natural gas, activities have been developed to increase awareness and safety in the use of gas in everyday life. As part of these events, information messages are broadcast through local channels, dispatch control systems, outdoor advertising on LED screens in cities, as well as in public transport, hospitals, shopping centers and public service centers.
In addition, meetings and meetings with the population are regularly held to discuss safety issues during the heating season, and information brochures are issued. Lectures and events are held in educational institutions, schools and public utilities to raise awareness about the safe use of gas. The society also actively interacts with local emergency services (ESS) and jointly conducts raids to check compliance with safety rules when using gas. The Company's employees undergo special training in first aid skills.
To disseminate information about the safe use of natural gas in everyday life, the Society also actively maintains pages on social networks, including Instagram and Facebook, where they share useful tips and current news.
